The benefits of CBD for your pet

CBD (cannabidiol) is a non-psychoactive compound found in cannabis plants and is known for it's potential health benefits for both humans and pets. Nearly all mammals have an ECS (endocannabinoid system) similar to humans. Many pet owners have reported positive effects of CBD for their animals. Some reported benefits of CBD for pets include:

1. Pain relief: CBD may help alleviate pain and inflammation in pets, especially those suffering from conditions like       arthritis or joint pain.

2. Anxiety and stress reduction: CBD may have a calming effect on pets, helping to reduce anxiety and stress   caused  by various situations like separation anxiety or loud noises.

3. Seizure management: CBD has shown promise in reducing the frequency and severity of seizures in pets with   epilepsy.

4. Appetite stimulation: CBD can help stimulate appetite in pets that have a reduced desire to eat due to illness or   treatment.

5. Nausea and vomiting: CBD may help reduce nausea and vomiting in pets, especially those undergoing chemotherapy or suffering from digestive issues.

When it comes to dosage, the correct amount of CBD for a pet depends on their weight. Generally, canines are the easiest to medicate with CBD because of their fat content and ease of expression (they let us know when they feel bad). The general guideline is to stat with a low dosage and gradually increase it until you observe the desired effects. A common starting point is 0.2 to 0.5 mg of CBD per pound of body weight. 

For example:

* A 20 pound pet may start with 4 to 10 mg of CBD per dose.

* A 50 pound pet may start with 10 to 25mg of CBD per dose.

It is essential to use CBD products specifically formulated for pets, as they often come in different concentrations compared to products designed for humans. Additionally, different products (e.g., oils, treats, capsules) may have different CBD concentrations, so it's crucial to read the product label and follow the manufacturer's dosing guidelines.
